Labial veneer is a thin layer of restoration placed over a tooth surface, to improve the aesthetics appearance, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. There are two types of material used to make a veneer, composite and porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed and built-up in the mouth, or indirectly fabricated (porcelain veneer) in a dental lab, and later bonded to the tooth. Porcelain veneer is a stronger, more natural looking and durable alternative than composite veneer. Composites are also more prone to staining and do not last as long as porcelain veneers.
